Escape to the beautiful colors and the cool heights of the western Rocky Mountains on horseback! Let the gentle mountain breeze set the mood as you meander through the serene backdrop of the colorful aspen groves, majestic pine trees, abundant wildflowers and a variety of wildlife. One-Hour (7 years and older)                                                   $35

We take pride in giving Beginner and Intermediate horseback riders the chance to enjoy the same spectacular experience as those more advanced horseback riders. With a brief orientation to the horses and riding, and with our trained tour guides, this experience is sure to give even the most timid rider a new found confidence! Our scenic, family-friendly guided trail ride starts at the Sunlight Stables, adjacent to Sunlight Mountain Resort, high in the beautiful White River National Forest.

Ride times are 9:30am, 11:30am and 1:30pm

Notes and Suggestions

No double riders allowed. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended for safety and comfort. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen and a camera! All tours are weather permitting. Reservations are recommended for all tours.  Call 970-945-7491 or 800-445-7931.

 

 Cross-Country Skiing Trails

The cross country skiing area offers 29 kilometers of groomed cross country and snowshoe trails. Beginning, intermediate and advanced trails wind their way through a gorgeous high valley called Babbish Gulch, flanked by Sunlight Mountain and the 10,300 foot Williams Peak. Cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals are available at the Sunlight Mountain Ski and Bike Shop downtown at 309 9th St. as well as on the mountain. There is no charge for trail use. There is one main trail that runs from the Sunlight Stables - please be aware that there may be snowmobiles on the trail.
