24 hrs of Sunlight

The Third Annual, 24 Hours of Sunlight – an endurance race challenging teams of all ages and abilities to hike up the mountain and ski, board, and/or snowshoe down, for an entire 24 hour period. World records - set last year - will be challenged!
February 23-24, 2008
Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Sunlight Mountain Resort
This race will challenge anyone who participates, regardless of their athletic abilities. The team concept allows people to challenge themselves, compete against their friends as well as the field. The goal spectrum will range from just finishing, to the most human powered vertical feet skied in 24 hours.
Mike Marolt, famed Everest skier and climber, conceived the idea and has convinced legends such as Andrew McLean and Greg Hill to participate. “You don’t have to be an extreme athlete or train all year,” says Marolt, “you just have to grab a bunch of your more adventurous friends and go for it! What a great way to spend the weekend.” Last year’s race attracted over 100 racers and thousands of spectators.
