A Letter from Sunlight Mountain Resort CEO, Cindy Dady

Sunlight CEO, Cindy DadyThe 2024-2025 season at Sunlight will be soon upon us. The staff at Sunlight is eagerly awaiting your arrival. I have enjoyed meeting many of you at community events, the mountain, and at Sunlight Ski and Bike Shop. Since my arrival in August, we have been making sure that Sunlight maintains the authentic skiing and riding experience, and that all of you continue to feel that you are part of a unique community where everyone is welcome.

The summer has been a hive of activity as we've been diligently preparing for the upcoming winter. We've made significant strides in various areas and can't wait to share the results with you.

As you know, we are in the approval process for replacing the Primo lift with the United States Forest Service. We have a signed contract with POMA for a new four-person lift to replace it. The planned start date to kick off the replacement of PRIMO and Segundo will be the week the Resort closes for the 24/25 season. The replacement for Segundo will be the three-person lift purchased from Abasin. The summer of 2025 will be hectic; dismantling the two chairs and installing the lifts. We poured five tower pads for Segundo near the mountain's base to get a bit of a jump start on the project. Many of you are interested in purchasing a chair from these iconic lifts. We will announce the purchase process in the next few months, so stay tuned!

Cat Driver in the snow at Sunlight Mountain ResortWe have moved to RFID technology for our season passes and ticketing, and are finishing installing Axcess RFID gates at our lifts. This will enhance our guest experience by allowing you to ride the lift without pulling out a season pass or lift ticket each time. Please rest assured that we have not replaced our lift attendants or cut positions by moving to RFID. Our friendly lift operators and attendants will assist you and ensure you are having a great time each time you ride their lift.

The summer trail crew made significant progress on the continuous project of removing deadfall in the glades. The glades off UTE and Joslin are shaping up to offer some fantastic skiing and riding this season! For those parking in the bottom parking lot, we replaced the stairs and the path through the trees with a metal staircase similar to the stair set in the middle stretch on the way up to the base area. We are finishing by adding solar lights to light your way for those early mornings and dusky walks back to the car. Our snowmaking system was enhanced by installing an additional pump to increase snow-making capacity. The team has been blowing snow at every opportunity to blanket the lower mountain. Sunlight Snowmobile Tours has moved to a temporary location next to the pump house. When you first arrive at Sunlight, you will not be able to miss it. The downtown store and the retail rental area at the mountain continue to receive new products for you to explore along with new equipment in our rental programs.

Lastly, we've given the lodge's bar a makeover to serve you better. With eight beer taps and two stations, we can now provide quicker service for those seeking a cold soda, beer, or other libations. Chef Corey has also been working hard refreshing the menu, and adding hot breakfast items and grab-and-go options from the barista area.

The entire staff at Sunlight Mountain looks forward to seeing you soon, and I look forward to spending time with you this winter.
