Greetings,
The 24/25 season has flown by, and we are heading into the home stretch and hopefully into the snowiest month of the season. The staff and I would like to thank all of you for all the time that you have spent with us. We enjoyed the conversations, chairlift rides, powder days and our amazing community. The combination of our staff and all of you is what makes Sunlight Mountain an incredibly special place. We have had many celebrations and look forward to many more to come. I especially enjoyed getting to know all of you during my daily lodge walks and lift rides.
The new gates at our lifts were not without their challenges, and we appreciate your patience as we worked through the kinks. Spending Saturdays at the Tercero lift, I have had many fun conversations that started with "What pocket is your pass in?" Next year, all of you will be pros navigating the gates.
With our new passes, you will not need to stop at the ticket booth or Sunlight Ski and Bike before your first day on the slopes for the 25/26 season because everything can be accomplished online. As you get ready to renew your pass, please follow the instructions on how to reload your current pass that will be posted on our website, and in the link below. There is an exception for the online reload. If you have lost your 24/25 season pass, you will need to login to purchase a new season pass and then pick up your pass from one of our outlets. The marketing team is excited to share all the details on the season pass for the 25/26 season. The best part of the 25/26 season pass is that every season pass holder will be able to enjoy the coveted powder day start time of 8:30! That's right, everyone gets a powder pass! This is in celebration of our new lifts and our way of saying thank you for being the backbone of our Sunlight community. If you are not a pass holder for this season, we hope that you choose to buy a pass for the 25/26 season.;
I know all of you would like to know where we stand with the replacement of the Segundo and Primo chairs. In the summer of 2023, USFS approved the permit to replace the Segundo Chair. The lift's installation delay was due to Sunlight needing help with the project from POMA. Sunlight Mountain has a talented staff that will be doing most of the work on the Segundo chair replacement, but there are a few items that the Sunlight needs POMA to complete for us. With the new Primo chair's installation, POMA will help with the Segundo chair installation as well. Our new Primo chair, an Alpha Poma quad chair, is being manufactured in Grand Junction as we speak. The Primo Chairlift replacement is currently in the environmental review process with the USFS. The Forest Service and others have been working diligently on moving our Primo chairlift replacement proposal through the different phases to reach final approval. Once all approvals have been finalized, we will also announce how you can purchase a coveted center pole chair from our iconic lifts.
This summer will be a busy time for Sunlight with our regular maintenance activities and lift construction. Unfortunately, the disc golf course will not be operational with our expected summer construction. Every weekend will be filled with weddings and other gatherings for many families.
Please put on your calendar October 18th for a new event for Sunlight. Join us on October 18th for the Sunlight Skier/Rider picnic. This will be a time for you to join in with all your winter friends and Sunlight staff to see all the notable things the team has accomplished. We are still in the event's planning stages, but I can guarantee it will be fun. It will be your opportunity to come together and enjoy food, beverages and make sure that your pass is ready to go for the 25/26 season.
Thank you for choosing to spend your valuable time with us this winter. You have made my first year so special, and I look forward to spending many more seasons with you.
Sincerely,
Cindy Dady, CEO
