Starting this 2024-25 season, all Sunlight Mountain lifts will use RFID cards for access. Both season passes and tickets will have a new look and feel. But don’t worry—these changes are designed to make lift access more efficient, getting you to your next run even faster!
To help with the transition, we have instructions below about the new RFID access cards and how they'll impact your season. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to us at info@sunlightmtn.com.
What is RFID?
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification, and it’s the technology behind the seamless, wireless scanning of your lift pass or ticket. Each pass contains a small chip that allows you to move through the gates at our lifts without needing to stop for a manual scan. With RFID, you can also reload additional tickets or passes online, saving you time by skipping the ticket window on your next visit!
Our RFID cards automatically communicate with the gates at each base lift. As you approach, the chip signals the gate to open, as long as your card is loaded with valid days. Simply keep your RFID Direct-to-Lift Card or Pass in a left-hand pocket, and the gate will do the rest. If you need more days, reloading your card online or at the Ticket Office is quick and easy.
How to use your RFID Sunlight Ticket or Pass
You can purchase your Season Pass or Lift Ticket online and pick it up at one of our convenient Pick-Up Boxes on the mountain or at the Ticket Office. Your pass will be encrypted onto an Access Card that contains an RFID chip.
To use, place your card on the left side of your jacket, between your left shoulder and waist — many ski jackets have pockets designed for RFID access cards on the left sleeve. The gates at the lifts will automatically read your card and open if it’s valid for that day.
Once you've enjoyed your day on the slopes, reloading your card is simple. Use the WTP number printed on the card to reload online, and next time, head straight to the lift—no waiting in line! Plus, your RFID card is reusable, which means less waste and added convenience for years to come.
