Camping Rules & Regulations
Quiet, Generators & Courtesy
- Quiet hours: 10:00 pm–6:00 am. Keep voices low; no amplified sound. No generator use during quiet hours.
- Respect neighbors: avoid bright lights, idling engines, and spotlights after dark.
Campfires & Fire Safety
- Fires only in provided rings and only when local fire restrictions allow; never leave unattended; drown, stir, and feel for cold-to-the-touch before leaving.
- Obey county/forest fire restriction stages (I/II) exactly as posted at check-in and on your website.
Wildlife & Food Storage (Bear Country)
- Store all food and “scented items” (coolers, trash, toiletries, pet food) in a locked vehicle or bear box whenever not in immediate use. No unattended coolers—day or night.
Pets
- Pets welcome on a leash (max ~6 ft); always under control; pick up waste and pack it to trash receptacles.
Site Use & Capacity
- Stay at your reserved site; use only your assigned ring & table.
- 1 RV/camper with 1 vehicle, or 2 vehicles with 2 tents
- Do not leave a set-up camp or vehicle unattended for more than 24 hours; camp only in designated areas.
- 14 days in any 30-day limit
Trash, Water & Clean Camp
- Pack it in, pack it out where services are limited; use provided dumpsters where available. Never leave trash or food scraps in rings or on the ground.
- Gray water: dispose only at designated sinks/dumps(off-site); no dishwashing in bathrooms or spigots unless signed.
Trails & On-Site Activities
- Use designated trails for biking, hiking, and running; yield appropriately and control speed near camps. Follow disc-golf course etiquette and posted hours. (Leave No Trace: stay on durable surfaces; respect others.)
Alcohol & Marijuana
- Alcohol: Follow Colorado law: Allowed at Campsites. No public intoxication.
- Marijuana: public consumption is illegal in Colorado and prohibited on federal lands; treat shared campground areas as public—no consumption in public spaces at Sunlight.
Vehicles & Parking
- Park only in your site’s designated area; extra vehicles in overflow as posted.
Drones & Fireworks
- No fireworks at any time.
- Drones: No drones without written permission. Please reach out to Travis at Travis@sunlighmtn.com if you would like to fly a drone.

How do I make a reservation?
Reservations aren’t available just yet—we’re aiming to open Summer 2026 booking within the next few months.
Are there hookups?
There aren’t any hookups this summer, but stay tuned for updates.
Is there a water filling station?
There is a water filling station in the lodge for bottles, but there is no potable water filling station for RVs/Campers.
Are there bathrooms?
There are porta-potties at the campsite and bathrooms with running water at the main lodge, just a 5-minute walk from the sites.
