The Sunlight Winter Sports Club (SWSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping local kids build confidence, skills, and a lifelong love for skiing. Through professional coaching and a supportive team atmosphere, we teach young athletes the fundamentals of ski racing while encouraging sportsmanship, perseverance, and fun on the slopes. More than just a race team, SWSC is a cornerstone of the Sunlight Mountain community—bringing together families, coaches, and winter enthusiasts who share a passion for outdoor adventure and the joy of mountain life.
Uphill Races
Sunlight offers multiple skimo races that die-hard uphillers travel from all over the state for. From the Moonlight Race Series to the 12 Hours of Sunlight, our uphill races are perfect for the competitive racer or the laid-back skinner alike. Looking to get out on the snow without wanting to ski or snowboard? Glenwood Springs has a ton of hiking trails that are accessible by snowshoe! In addition, you can rent snowshoes from the rental shop at the mountain and enjoy Babbish Gulch, a section of forest service land next to Sunlight Mountain that is beautiful, serene, and enjoyable for all ages.
Sunlight Mountain Resort offers 29 kilometers of beautifully groomed cross-country and snowshoe trails for every skill level. Winding through the stunning high valley of Babbish Gulch—nestled between Sunlight Mountain and the impressive 10,300-foot Williams Peak—the trails begin at Old Four Mile Road near Sunlight Stables.
Cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals are available at the Sunlight Mountain Ski and Bike Shop and at the Mountain Rental Shop. Trail use is free, and maps are available at the Guest Services Office. For more information, call us at 970-945-7491.

That’s right, you asked and we listened. Sunlight Mountain will be expanding our offerings and will be adding tubing for the 2026 or 2027 winter season. Will will offer 6 lanes of tubing throughout the day and into the night, as well as food and beverage services inside a brand new warming hut. Stay tuned to our channels for project updates!
Glenwood Springs Hot Springs
